Taking time to practice gratitude

Taking time to practice gratitude

No one achieves anything alone. We rely on support and encouragement from many people who play different roles in our lives. It is up to us to remember to reflect back their kindness and help it grow in ourselves and our business and personal relationships. The quality of these relationships- and the gratitude we express about them- are what sustain us in our daily lives.

Starting a business is complex with a steep learning curve. Each person below took time to offer encouragement and generously share the wisdom of their experiences. Not only have they helped me, I know they have helped others, too.  They understand the value of building long term relationships and to give before your get. As a small gesture of paying it forward, I ask you to visit their LinkedIn profiles or websites and keep them in mind it you find yourself looking for coaching, group support, or assistance with a specific project.

The OnPoint Gratitude All-Stars

  • Paul Worstell– the first person I shared my dream of launching a consulting practice. He immediately shared his ideas, intellectual property, contacts, and enthusiasm.
  • Debby Peters– networking guru and entrepreneur extraordinaire. She gave me lunch and 10 pages of notes on networking, mastermind groups, and content marketing. ( Don’t miss our holiday kick off post on Better Networking on November 30)
  • Laura MacDonald and Ron Guisinger, Benefactor Group- They extended an opportunity to work as a strategic partner. They showed me what exemplary customer service looks like and shared their resources and tools generously.
  • Zach Huber and Linda Fayerweather at the Toledo Public Library- Zach and Linda are small business reference and resource specialists who help new business owners access information they need to market and learn how to manage a small business
  • Colleen KnightJennifer WilliamsHeather GallantDavid Leckey– proved that social media and virtual meetings can foster relationships and build friendships and support networks.
  • My patient family- who supported my decisions and provides unwavering encouragement.

As we gather this week and in the coming month, I encourage you to take a moment each day to express your gratitude to those who have helped you on your journey. You won’t regret it.
